How can we make Leigh on Mendip an even better place to live?

The Parish Council have been offered the opportunity to claim up to £15,000 from Mendip District Council.  This money has been given to Mendip by the contractors, who have recently built the new housing in the village. As with all funding there are conditions! The money is to be used for :-

‘The provision or enhancement and management of off-site public open space within the district of Mendip

There have already been several suggestions.

1.     Creation of a bowls green

2.     A community garden

3.     Seating area at the Leigh St end of Park Hayes

4.     Tennis Court/ multi-sport area

5.     New allotments

6.     Extending the recreation field

If you would like to support one of these or have other ideas, please either

·        Email or write (see below)

·        Attend the meeting on 20th November, 6pm at the Hall.

The Parish Council will make the final decision.  Dependant what the village wants, we will seek additional funding (if required).

Please let us have your thoughts and suggestions by Monday 20th November 2017
