Call First – New Appointment System


From 12th July we are changing our appointment system with the aim of improving access to the GP of your choice while ensuring patients are seen by the right healthcare professional at the right time and improving efficiency.


When you call to book an appointment or ask for advice our receptionists will ask you about the nature of your problem to enable them to book you the correct appointment or signpost you to the most appropriate service.


If you need a GP appointment you will be given a telephone appointment that day with the GP of your choice. If your preferred GP is not available that day you will be given the choice of either a telephone appointment that day with an alternative GP or a telephone appointment with the GP of your choice when they are next available up to 4 days in advance.


We will still have a duty doctor available every day to deal with any urgent problems.
