Community Friendship Café (Tower room):

The café continues to be open every weekday from 9am to 4pm with cakes regularly available.  Drinks - tea/coffee/hot chocolate or a slice of cake/or toasted teacake, all £1.00 each.

Due to the lowering of the bells for refurbishment, it is currently forecast that the church and café will be closed on Monday 20th May for one week.

Community Café events

Saturday opening.   The Café is open from 2-4pm on Saturday 4th May, all welcome.  We will also have the Community Police Beat Surgery from 2.30pm.  This monthly event provides parishioners with the opportunity to socialise and also to discuss village security/safety concerns.

Jigsaw morning – next opportunity Wednesday 8th May 10am-1pm – open to all.

Construction of oak screen

We provided the PCC with the funds (from cash and community loans) to build the oak screen last year but at the time FOLC still had to raise the additional money for the glass door and side panels.  We are pleased to report that the glass was funded and all successfully installed in mid-April.

Heritage research

The search facility of the parish records (baptisms, marriages and burials) is now up and running from the heritage desk. Also the first Heritage display in the adjacent cabinet features the lead graffiti (lead imprinted or scratched into the historic roof).  Both these projects are part of the Heritage Lottery Fund (now The National Lottery Heritage Fund) project, and formed an essential part of the PCC submission for the grant to repair and conserve the Nave roof.  The Lottery Fund paid the full cost of creating the beautifully crafted oak heritage desk and display cabinet as part of the overall project – do come and have a look at the new facilities

FOLC event - Saturday 18 May – back again – our Murder Mystery evening.  Please book and support FOLC (see separate advert)
