Treasurer’s Report KC reported little change. He had kept money in the current account with a view to a new water heater being purchased although this had not yet happened. He also recorded the profit from the recent Take Art show and the fact the yoga payment had now been received. No 100 club draw until the new season starts.
Correspondence SV had received 1) notification from Community Council that they would not be going ahead with the PAT scheme due to lack of response and higher costs than first thought. Our next test due in Jan so will need to contact Lawrence Fairfield shortly. 2) Invoice from Take Art, which she had paid by cheque in absence of KC. and 3) info on new Community Chest grant scheme launched by Western Power Distribution. This was to aid energy efficiency measures with grants of up to £1000, unfortunately too late for us as we had the cavity wall insulation fitted in autumn.
Maintenance 1) Water heater. SV and RO had discussed possibility of “instant” type heater, which would mean hot water there every time a tap was switched on rather than wait for the storage tank type to heat up. This was a lot cheaper to purchase than the tank type but also required a lot more power to run. SV had contacted Mike, the electrician who had put the new kitchen circuit in and he felt he needed to inspect the premises to see if further new supply would be needed for the instant type heater. Unfortunately partly due to his van being out of action and then the pressures of Christmas this had not happened. SV to liase with RO about this issue. Costs may not be much less than tank type, as would need professional fitting and possibly new electric circuit, if tank type Daggs can fit. 2) Child proof lock on drawer with knives, either RO or Daggs to fix. 3) AO had cleaned out cupboards with bleach to try and clear mould, SV had wiped this off earlier in day and left to dry, will put everything back later in week. However some cupboard bases badly marked, may be an idea to line at later date.
Fund raising 1) Hickman & Cassidy concert went well and SV had received several good comments since. Small profit made, as is norm with Take Art events which although subsidised still need a large outlay from us, we make most of our profit from the raffle and bar but this time little was sold at the latter. 2) SV hoped to arrange annual quiz in March with Worleys, April not convenient for committee.
AOB SV and Daggs had taken down most of the decorations earlier in day when there to wipe bleach out of cupboards, committee finished job and put items away in loft over stage.
