Minutes of previous meeting were agreed and signed.

Treasurer’s Report DP had paid various bills, completed the Charity Commission Annual Return and was planning to renew the insurance. He noted that the investment account interest rate had gone down to ¾% but was not considering investigating switching accounts, partly as it was a fairly modest amount of capital so difference in return not large. The 100 club results were 1st Barbara and Dave Turner 2nd Brian Loten and 3rd Shelagh Haywood.

Booking Clerk’s Report  RO had brought the diary sheet to the meeting. In addition to the regular bookings we had the EU referendum on the 23rd and some LOMCA events in addition to their usual lunch day. It was noted that payment had not yet been received from the police commissioner election booking although BW reported the adjudicators had not yet been paid either.

Correspondence 1) The quote for the replacement of the disabled toilet flooring, to be carried out at the same time as the work in the gent’s toilet. 2) Promotion Menu booklet from Take Art for Sept 16-June 17.3) Newsletter from the Community Council for Somerset, nothing affecting Leigh in it.

Maintenance 1) DM had produced very thorough and informative report on the pros and cons of having a dishwasher in the Hall. Based on this his recommendation was that we should not proceed with the plan. The committee took a vote on this and agreed unanimously with the recommendation. SV will inform Graham Harris for LOMCA, attaching a copy of the report. 2) Flooring in the 2 toilets booked for the week starting 1st August. 3) Smoke alarm tested ok at meeting. 4) Maintenance day had gone very well with a lot done including mending the gate to the children’s play area and painting the chair shed. Since then the toddler storage shed had also been done. EB thanked RO and AO for their help with this. 5) SV gave a special thank you to Clive Baker who had also done extra work following the maintenance day. He had re-painted the woodwork in the main Hall and the outside door leading from the bar area, which had been in quite a poor state.

Fund raising. Both BW and EB agreed to help RO at the fete and he would ask GB if she was also available for an hour.

AOB 1) SV said she had not heard the outcome of our application for a Parish Council Grant towards the replacement floor work. DM said he thought we would definitely be getting one. 2) DM reported that the defibrillators will be coming soon and that there is enough money for CPR courses to be provided in addition to the instructions from the manufacturer about operating the defibrillators.3) BW told us about a “Who Done It” event she had been to and that the writer/organiser would be happy to help put one on in Leigh. She will e mail his contact details to DM who may be interested on behalf of the FOLC group.
