MINUTES OF LEIGH-ON-MENDIP PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 29 NOVEMBER 1993 AT 5 CHURCH WALK. Councillors present were R Dixon, H Mawdsley, D Turner and D Pattison, Chairman. Apologies were accepted from J Davis who was attending a meeting of Leigh School Governors and S Haywood. PLANNING TWEED FARM - conversion of byre to stabling - no objections. Mr A Merrick, County Councillor arrived. HALECOMBE QUARRY FOOTPATH - a letter had been received from SCC responding to the PC's letter of objection. It was agreed to write asking: 1) What assurances could be given that a linking FP would be legally acceptable? 2) Why weren't said link shown? 3) Why was path at base of bank? 4) Additional access points agreed verbally were not included? 5) Clarification of "to a certain extent" and "safety requirements" was requested. A map of the sort of route the PC would like to see would be sent. The letter contained a threat to ask for costs against the PC if their objection was not withdrawn. It was decided to ask SALC to look over all the documents to give an objective view on the reasonableness of the PC's objections. (CLERK) ASPHALT PLANT AT HALECOMBE - a discussion took place in light of the fact that the County had not honoured their consultation promise made to this PC and the fact that there was a 2 minute Member of the Public slot at Planning Meetings. The next Meeting is on MONDAY 20 DECEMBER AT 7.30 IN THE SCHOOL.
