MINUTES OF LEIGH-ON-MENDIP PARISH-COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON 24 APRIL 1995 IN THE SCHOOL. Councillors present: H Daniels, J Davis, R Dixon, S Haywood, M Loten, D Pattison (Chairman) and D Turner. Apologies had been received from A Merrick, County Councillor. MINUTES of meeting 20 March accepted as a true record and signed. MATTERS ARISING ML had met Mr Lake SCC Highways about barrier at Barns Close. SCC will replace warning barriers with more of the same but set in deeper. Mr L suggested PC talk to quarry owners. PC still not satisfied and will write to SCC accordingly. It was agreed to arrange to meet Mr Dutson from ARC after 4 May. (CLERK) VILLAGE CLEAN-UP - SH great success at small cost. Thanks to all. GRAVEYARD- DP- J Robson had agreed to draw up plans. (CLERK & DP) WHATLEY PA - sent. STRUCTURE PLAN - letter agreed and sent. (CLERK & DP) FINANCE - VILLAGE CLEAN-UP - cost had been approximately £10. D Turner proposed that on presentation of a bill by S Haywood the Parish Council pay. M Loten seconded, all agreed. A cheque will be made out when bill is presented. (CLERK) R.F.M.C. - Car Park extension. Other side have asked Rec Field to pay their costs of approx £150 + VAT. RD felt this was unfair but it was agreed to pay subject to the wording of original letter making the car park offer stating nothing to the contrary. Matters of change of use and right of access will be drawn to the attention of the RFMC. (SH & CLERK) PRECEPT - arrived and put into Investment a/c. Receipt for SALC sub. ROADS AND FOOTPATHS Letter from Marcus Barton re Footpath Warden. DT will pursue.(DT) NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH SIGN missing. Next Agenda. LAYBY - mud on road, check with AM & SCC. QUARRY MATTERS SCC - 18 May Shepton Mallet 4.30, Torr Works & Moons Hill.(RD) AM sent copy of letter about meeting of Halecombe Liaison Group. ROOKERY FARM - concern at size of listed building curtilage. HALECOMBE QUARRY - trees on N & W side need attention. (CLERK) CORRESPONDENCE Circulated - MDC Homelink, CPRE mag & Annual Report, Somerset Community Care, Charity News, MEP letter, Rec Field Minutes, SCC Recycler, Whats on April/May 95. Mendip Wildlife Survey - DP for School. Playground info to RFMC. Mendip Council for Vol Services Charity Trustees seminar. ML agreed to go. DP proposed PC pay £5 fee, SH seconded all agreed, cheque made out. NEXT MEETING - AGM & APM 15 MAY.
