MINUTES OF LEIGH-ON-MENDIP PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON 19 MAY 1999 AT 7.30pm AT THE POST HOUSE.

Councillors present: M Loten, P Moore, N Park and J
Wright, Chairman.
Apologies were accepted from N Haskin.

PLANNING
Nigel Salmon on behalf of Tony Gould of Townsend Farm explained
the application for four dwellings on the yard area of Townsend
Farm. Following the last consultation with the Parish Council
the plans had been redrawn to show outline permission being
requested for a 3 bed cottage with access off Stocks Lane and a
semi-detached unit and a detached house with joint access off
Leigh Street. The PC supported the application on the grounds
that it was a conversion of a brown field site; the frontage was
in line with existing buildings on Leigh Street. Councillors
intimated that they would like to see the materials used being
local stone but conceeded that the garages at the back could be
rendered as long as the roofing material matched that used on the
houses.
They agreed that this site was more suited to housing than to
light industrial use. (CLERK)

CONCERVATORY AT12 THE GREEN, COLEFORD - no comment. (CLERK)

CO-OPTION TO THE PARISH COUNCIL
NP proposed co-opting A Gould and G Jeannes to the Parish
Council; ML seconded and all present agreed. (CLERK)

NEXT MEETING 21 JUNE in the School at 7.30pm.
