As you may be aware, Somerset County Council have been progressing the installation of a Small Improvement Scheme to improve road safety on Old Frome Road from the A37 Beacon Hill crossroads junction in the west through to the A361 near to Colemans Quarry to the east via Old Wells Road.

The outstanding road marking works for this scheme are now programmed in, and will start on 6 April.  This will require some road closures to undertake safely, but these will be night-time only (18:30 - 06:00hrs) and not include weekends.  The attached plan shows the sections to be closed highlighted red (the exact programme of closures will be determined as the works progress) with the diversion route that will be signed shown in green.

A particular issue on this one is that the works are at locations where on-street laminated notices would not be appropriate.  In view of this, and the fact that letter drops are still not being undertaken because of the ongoing pandemic, we have used a higher level of advance information signing to warn local residents/ businesses and road users of these closures (there should be a sign on each approach at every closure, 12 number in total).

I hope that this is of help.
